Wonderful Wedding flowers! I adore flowers and the choice for Wedding arrangements is as big as your imagination (that’s pretty big for me…)
The arrangements above are from my own Wedding, I wanted lots of colour and seasonal flowers. I included my favourite flowers (Iris) and lots of Ivy for a rustic feel. My brief for my florist, Kayleigh from ‘Tulips’ in Bakewell, was quite loose, I didn’t want anything structured, I felt as though the flowers should feel a little bit wild (just like me!)

If we haven’t been formally introduced, allow me to tell you that at best I can be described as sentimental, at worst a hoarder (!!) When it came to my Wedding Bouquet I felt that it was something I would like to keep. I met the lovely Gemma from The Button Tin in Rotherham at a Wedding Fayre and fell in love with her beautiful pieces. When it came to thinking about my bouquet I knew she would be able to create something wonderful and personal for me.
The flowers in my bouquet were all handcrafted by Gemma from 1940’s and 1950’s fabric, she added buttons, lace and the beautiful bells that you can see on the bottom which are from my Mum’s Wedding Dress.
At the back of the bouquet there is a tiny piece of my comfort blanket given to me by my Nana when I was a baby, the fabric was so old (no jokes please) and fragile that Gemma had to weave it after I had cut a piece off. By the handle there are two separate pieces of vintage ribbon entwined at the top. Gemma hand-stitched my name onto one and Adam’s onto the other.
I was so touched by the little details that were added, my bouquet is truly a work of art to be treasured.

Jessica jayne of JJ’s flowers based on Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield reminds Brides to Be that “Your Wedding Day should be a day you never forget”.

My lovely (and very talented) Mum created all of the flower arrangements for our reception, you can see one of her arrangements in the pic above. Mum collects antique and vintage china and spent months collecting jugs,teacups and bowls to fill with flowers.
The yellow Roses above are some more of my favourite flowers. They evoke a sense of the countryside and feel so homely to me. If you are planning to create your own flowers let your creativity blossom, just keep in mind the timescale for your venue. We had our barn for a whole weekend and it took Mum at least a full day to collect and arrange all of the flowers. She asked the flower seller on our market in Chesterfield to help with sourcing the flowers, he was very happy to help and made some beautiful choices. If you are thinking of creating your own arrangements I can thoroughly recommend a visit, his prices and knowledge are excellent. Just make sure you give him notice for a big order.
Having Mum dress our reception venue made everything so personal, she worked tirelessly to collect and arrange everything, ably assisted by my lovely Dad (although I suspect he was not involved in the flower arrangements…) I’m exceptionally lucky to have such a creative and loving family, a top tip for you Wedding Planning is to use talents that your family and friends have, it adds such a personal touch to your Wedding.
